longtime the states you mentioned won't be competitive for democrats to have a chance. I look at my state NC and there is no way you could have told me 25 years ago that it would one day be a swing state and that the GOP candidate will struggle to get above 50 percent of the vote. It looks like Trump is going to win NC again but he still is unable to crack 50 percent just like he did last time in NC which leads me to believe my state is on the verge of being a blue leaning state. 25 years ago culturally NC felt like Alabama,Mississippi, but not today and that's due to all the people moving down here from the North. The same thing will happen across the country since cost of living is going up and people will constantly try to look for cheap places to live. Factor in companies will move to places like Alabama,Montana because it's cheap and bring an educated base of people.
