But I have seen fox and friends, I've heard hannity. It didn't persuade me. The underlying problem seems to be what the OP is about. The underlying problem is that talk radio and fox appeal to these people. They already think these things. They are already bigots and homophobes and misogynists. They watched fox because it agreed with them, reinforced their beliefs.
We watch MSNBC because it reinforces our beliefs.
That's what is sad about the election. We watch programs that appeal to love and acceptance and generosity and community. They watch programs that appeal to fear, hate, and nastiness.
The problem has been exacerbated by social media and by opportunists like murdoch and prosperity evangelists. But it was an easy task to get them to tune in and fill the pews.
I have read Pavlovitch for some time. This is the most depressed I have ever seen his writing. It's because we have to realize what he says down in the article. Our neighbors, our friends, our family members who voted for trump twice are just not good people. They were not duped. They have just shown their true nature.
And that is very sad.
