(5,126 posts)Dump being dictator wouldn't be any more fun for the rethugs - maybe even less fun as they are closer to the smell of his corruption - than it is for US. Tying themselves to HIM if he is likely to lose, makes them losers too.
Their support for him has some limits, mostly self preservation type limits. But there is splintering in their "support" of him that only goes so far. They aren't the types to fall on their sword to save him. If he goes down, he's on his own.

The reality is, given the fact that the statisticians have come to a conclusion at this stage, I think we get behind the new president, Sen.
