Can McConnell fire her?

Trump used his Chief of Staff John Kelly to "warn" people they were about to be fired, and then they'd usually be fired by tweet.

Trump has tried to use WH counsel to fire people. He once asked Corey Lewandowski to fire someone. He usually uses someone on the inside.

Could he use McConnell that way? I mean, times are strange and anything is possible, but to me that seems a stretch that he would use someone outside the WH.
