(23,655 posts)Precinct chairs only have one way to find the Democrats in their precincts - folks who vote in Democratic Primaries. We know there are voters who vote for Democrats in General Elections and never go near a primary election. We also know there are Republicans who vote in Democratic primaries to try and get the weakest candidate elected (which never works) and vice versa.
Numbers like the OP just can't be pulled together in an open registration state.
Lots of voters who only vote in Presidential years and only vote the top line. Sorry Donald Jr that is perfectly legitimate and happens all the time. It is called undervoting and "both sides do it"
Fact remains that there is no point in fooling around with numbers in a state which is likely to go heavily in one direction or another.
