She's an actress and a comedian, and she worked on SNL for a few years. I believe she used to play different journalists in comedy skits on SNL. (She might have even done Kelly O'Donnell at one point.) She did get her own show rather quickly, once she left SNL. Not sure if this is the one you're thinking about.
