That is true no doubt, and represents a dereliction of duty as well.

However the Presidential Oath of Office doesn't cover that. And, this oath is required by the Constitution. So breaking this oath violates American principles, both Democratic and Republican. The election process is a cornerstone of the Constitution, so you can't kick at it without threatening the whole structure.

We can't change his behavior, nor that of his peers. What we can do is maximize the political damage from this demonstrably unpatriotic and unconstitutional behavior.
