In reply to the discussion: Mask-fogged glasses were driving me crazy! [View all]frazzled
(18,402 posts)2. Good idea
When I had to visit my opthalmologist earlier during the pandemic, they taped my mask down to my nose. I think it was mostly because of the ultra-close work this type of doctor has to do when peering into your face with lights and tools; but perhaps also because for accurate testing, masks can kind of mess with your vision.
I thought it was a good idea at the time, but hadn't thought of it to prevent fogging (big problem!). I try to keep my mask as tight as possible over my nose to prevent it, but the bandaid would really help (with everything but looks).

I wear reading glasses. The only time I go out is grocery shopping or tutoring, and I need glasses

Makes sense. I think N95s are meant to protect you when you inhale, not filter what you exhale.

Bandaids peel your skin. Surgical tape works just as well and is kinder to your skin

It 's worth a try. The fogging makes me crazy (not a hard thing to do at the best of times).

I find that crimping down that wire in the mask above the nose works sometimes, but not always.
