(3,173 posts)but the airfield's being blown up and the landing gear is jammed. President Biden's task -- if he's allowed to undertake it -- will be enormous.
Without the Senate, of course, Biden will be care-taker for at least 2 years. The Senate will refuse to work with him and, as a result Fox and company will relentless attack him as a do nothing president. So in 2022 the booboisie (71,000,000 strong) will vote Republican, because that's what they do; and millions of potential Democratic voters will stay home, because that's what they do.
With the Senate, Biden will be able to get things done even as Fox and company squawk and scream "socialism!" to enflame the already burning Trumpers, but it's possible that the Dems will stick by Biden and enable him and Harris to keep the Senate for the remainder of their first term. If they don't and the Republicans win back the senate in 2022, it'll be game over.
