In reply to the discussion: Anyone else notified family about cancelling holiday plans? [View all]FakeNoose
(41,193 posts)26. Yes I cancelled my trip a week ago
I believe my family will get vaccinated as soon as it's available. But we're almost all Dems in my family, so that's what I'd expect. For those who refuse the vaccine once it's available, not all will be politically motivated. I believe a few Dems and liberals of one kind or another will want to be convinced that the vaccine is safe before they actually receive it.
It's going to take time getting everyone vaccinated. If anyone refuses then they should be required to wear a mask all the time.

A lot of people I know are having big get togethers. Won't be seeing any of them for a long time.

Yes, but I do worry about the percentage of people who are not going to be eligible to be vaccinated

Sigh, I love baby piggies. With any luck, you'll get to meet the baby in spring.

Governor Kate Brown said, "Don't accidentally kill someone." She's been spot-on throughout.

I was going to be having 7, and we started on Nov 16 to isolate so we would all be safe.

Sounds like many in my family. Luckily I live across the state from them and so no pressure.

Oh man, you're in a tough spot. I think I'd have a bad case of the trots that day and cancel.
