They Shoot Horses, Don't They? 1969, Jane Fonda, Gig Young, & Susannah York won Oscars, many other Oscar wins and nominations. Red Buttons should have won one, too. Dark, brutal, unforgettable.
Starman, 1984, Jeff Bridges (not much more than a kid then) & Karen Allen. Heartwrencher. I love it.
Always and forever my favorite movie, I've watched it with all my children, all my grandchildren, and most of my great grandchildren - it never grows old: To Kill a Mockingbird, 1962.

Two sons have made a big deal abut that movie and finally watched it. Not that impressed.
