I spent 8 hours listening to Christmas songs in a car and I have some questions

53. I've only been to Georgia once (actually you could say 4 times, you'll see)

It was Easter break 1978. We drove from Michigan to Siesta Key, Fla. in a 1975 Chevrolet Caprice Classic with my two sisters, and my folks. Styling! It took 2 days with only terrestrial radio and no tape deck. When we arrived we found out my grandma had died and we left the next day and drove all the way home. Had Easter dinner at a place called Wendy’s in central Ohio.

A week later we drove all the way back down for a week. The only time I have been to Florida. When asked I say I have been there once, but really twice (hence the four times to Georgia, once each way)

Anywho, like I said we only had terrestrial radio. The song of the season that year was Dire Straits Sultans of Swing. I heard it played on top 40 radio in every metropolitan area from Detroit to Tampa. I can’t tell you how many times. Good song but after a while when it came on my sisters would groan “Nooooo!”
