I used to drive from Wisconsin and Texas alot back then.
I bought an 8-track and a CB.
I would listen to the soundtrack of Fiddler on the Roof over and over. Why? I bought the cassette because I liked every song on the tape and didn't have to deal with skipping over songs. I don't remember listening to anything else.
With that type of thinking, I should have just purchased an 8 track of Led Zeppelin II, but I already owned the LP and didn't want to spend my money on something I already owned
Actually, I did call my parents on one trip. I was in a motel in Oklahoma. There was a tornado warning and there was no basement to go to like in Wisconsin. My dad was a meteorologist. I was scared. I called him collect. He was annoyed and told me not to worry about it. So, I worried about it.
