28. Not for ER pet hospitals

The fees are outrageous. None of the fees by themselves are outlandish, but they add up pretty fast. They want paid upfront, too, at least half of the anticipated bill. I spent over $7500 trying (and failing) to save one of my cats from a pylothorax.
