That sets up class envy, bitterness, cognitive issues when arriving on site, etc.

It's bad enough these jobs often require rotating shifts which throw the body off, then add a second gig.


In Camden NJ, they have the Camden County Police, and the starting salary is $28K a year. That might sound good in some sections of the country, but in NJ, the adjusted poverty level is $27K. Why? Because NJ, like CA & NY have to send billions to other states to fund their failures of Republican governance. Seniors here get fucked with Social Security because that is distributed equally, and not on cost of living for the area. Getting back on point, you have someone making poverty wages making life or death decisions, when they are working double shifts, rotating shift schedules, etc.
