(42,862 posts)For me, the gold-standard will always be: "WWND?" --- What would Nancy do? What would she say? How would she react? How would she respond? How would she handle things?
Even when she's clearly angry, she's maintains her dignity and grace. She's keenly aware that she's always "on-stage" (so to speak) and that she has a great responsibility to uphold the honor of her office, her position, the institution. She didn't get to where she is by being short-tempered or by showing obvious lapses in good judgement. There was no need for her to indulge in that type of behavior.
I believe that all of our representatives (no matter which party; no matter how popular he/she may be; no matter how long or how short their time in office may be; no matter how old or how young) it's my strong belief that all of our elected representatives can learn a lot from watching Nancy Pelosi, and conducting themselves in the same manner that she does.
It's a true indication of maturity and experience when our elected leaders are able to think before they speak (or tweet, or blurt out on TV) and when they are able to keep their emotions under control and behave in a rational and adult-like and professional manner... even when angry.
This is a perfectly reasonable position to have. I do not know why there's so much resistance to it.
