6. I think the situation was as many have described it

Everyone was stunned from the start of the debate at Romney's about-face on every issue. I think Obama immediately knew what Mitt was doing. He refused to play. And that is exactly why when Mitt kept staring at him as if to intimidate, Obama kept his head down and his eyes on his notes. He was determined to remain focused on what he wanted to say as opposed to being knocked off his game.

Mitt underestimated his opponent. President Obama is not just any other political animal. This is a man who knows what he is doing. He kept his composure throughout the charade and walked away without a bruise on him. He knew in the aftermath of the debate the fact-checkers would take care of any unfinished business.
