When the evangelicals here started their crap about evolution being "just another theory" it helped set the stage for ignorant people thinking their opinions on science were just as valid as the scientists themselves. So now we've got millions of yahoos who don't know a microbe from a manifold telling anyone who'll listen that Dr. Fauci doesn't know what he's talking about. They have been emboldened by their con artist leaders and won't listen to facts, so the rest of us get to suffer assholes not masking during a pandemic.
