Not until the Christian, Racist, passive aggressive White Supremacist Right had lost the busing and integration wars of the 70s did the churches and the GOP look for another wedge to bring the pews to the polls.

The Cristian RIght railed against Catholic parochial schools, then went full on Christian School to keep their children away from the browns and darks out there. That morphed into the charter school movement, disigned ot let the school pick the student. Quelle surprise, they'r emostly white bastions of Christianism.

And that brings us to the whole abortion debate: It's not about controlling all women, just white women. The old white men are terrified that young white women might abort a white boy child. They don't care how many black women have abortions. They don't care how many Latin American descended women have abortions. (my guess is they secretly wish brown people would have more of them). They really don't care if you abort a girl, either.

No culture I know banishes boys at birth. Girls? Sure. But not boys. AMerican culture does not terminate pregnancies based on sex, but The GOP has legislation banning that very practice. Why? A white woman might, just might terminate the gestation of a male embryo. This is what the whole debate is really a mask for. Whites will be a mere plurality, and they will, in America, because we are a nation of immigrants, become, gasp, the horror, a minority in the distant future. They fear others will treat them (old white men who make laws for others that never apply to themselves) might, just might, get a tiny modicum of payback. So, white women, breed!!!

Once you see it, you really can't unsee it.
