That is where Ford Heights got its name from. This town was always poor. But things have gotten much worse in the past decades with the loss of local manufacturing jobs. My father used to deliver mail in this neighborhood.
This story really hits home.

The work of teaching can be so absorbing. I imagine even more so amongst the truly poor.
