If you remember that scene from Gone With the Wind ("All We Got is Cotton, Slaves, and Arrogance!" ), it sort of clinches the testosterone-driven idiocy that is driving the same stupidity today:

This single scene is to me some of the redemption GWTW requires, given the "whitewash" of slavery. It put forth a lot of truth in this scene.
