I agree with your sentiments exactly, but we need to do more than "urge" veterans to uphold their oath.

Any retired veteran who took part in this insurrection MUST be recalled to active duty and face a Court Martial.

If convicted, those retired veterans should be stripped of all rank, privilege, awards and benefits, dishonorably discharged, and given significant confinement in Federal Prison.

In addition, although rare, veterans that are receiving retainer pay, or other VA Benefits can have that pay and entitlements revoked for certain felony convictions.

It's not enough to "request" that retired veterans honor the standards required when they accepted retired and retainer pay...they must understand that there are consequences for failing to do so.
