It's all kinda muddy to me as I was drafted that year and did not figure out the absentee ballot thingy for the primary. However, I did get it right for the general election, and I DID NOT vote for Nixon.
My brother and SIL, both republicans, were real keen on him.
FWIW: Pete McCloskey lives on his ranch on Cache Creek, not to far from you as the bird flies, although it's still a long slog by road.
