as was shown conclusively, the woman was "throwing" something (shooting silly string).

Leave it to a major news network to not do the legwork, to not have the facts straight, and to make confident assertions without knowing their asses from their elbows.

It's not that it's important to the core of the story. It is that it's important to this ex-journo that standards for both broadcast and print journalism are so impossibly low that the field is in shambles and the reputation of the press for accuracy is mud.

Way too many members of the press are reckless with their jobs and with their primary responsibilities to inform, to be accurate, and to give a damn about the important role of the fourth estate.

I'm glad the anchor's hair and makeup are well done. Now how about being more than just a high-paid clown?
