They normally use terms like "he misspoke" and "That's inaccurate", but their sudden loss of candor opened the door for others to do the same for the 1st time.
Unfortunately, The president has to be quoted word for word when he makes a statement. Censorship or correcting for facts is irresponsible journalism, and the stream of lies and mischaracterization poured out of the Oval Office like a Niagara, thanks to Twitter, FB, and his ideal iPhone sized hands.

Many newspapers too tip toed around the lies and called them "untruths" until about last year.
