With the internet, we subscribed to British streaming services (Acorn and Britbox). Living in a small town with no bookstores, we decided to use Amazon for our reading material. If possible, we buy used books via Amazon's used book dealer network.
For "Breaking News," We go to The Guardian online. And for news summaries, of course, we use DU.
In the early years of retirement and before we cut the cables, we had a TV on all day. Now it comes on around 17:30 with supper and off by 21:30. We both have hobbies, so we quilt, tie flies, and read while watching British programming. And see NO advertising.
We have never watched a Trump speech in realtime or from start to rambling. We rely on DU summaries, opinion pieces, and other posting.
