One of the mainstays of The National Review is columnist who lay contempt on Democrats and liberals with a trowel the size of an airplane wing. That's the entertainment its subscribers pay for.

I'll believe they're "allies" when they start stomping on conservatives who call everything they don't like "socialism!"
