The last pair of glasses I bought - a number of years ago - was $1,100. I am very nearsighted and astigmatic as hell to boot. I've been getting by with a pair I got through Minnesota Care in '07 after the expensive frames fell apart. My glasses will never be cheap because I need progressive trifocals, but this sounds like a way to save hundreds of bucks. Warby Parker looks excellent, as does Costco.

There are many inexpensive online eyeglasses made in China. I bought a couple of them. Work great

Sears optical is not owned by Luxotica, but they run both Sears and Target's optical business.

i used to get mine in bangkok...$8-12 cash for tests, lenses and frames. crazy, eh?
