1. and this what a crazy world we live in

I noticed about two days ago that Covid is no longer on the front page, the leading news item on Media. Why? Because our government is/was under threat. Think about it, 4000 a day dying from a pandemic is no longer the biggest news story, it has become just a part of our life now. I told my SO the other day, hey keep away, and read off the current stats prior to him leaving for his volunteer work, not because he is careless, but rather to remind him, this is still going on, and its worse, don't drop your guard because you no longer hear of it, on the news, from your friends, from me.

Edit, think for a minute. when this started the majority of people did some combination of the following

Order groceries delivered, or went to curb side pick up

Stopped all interaction with other persons, family, friend or stranger. So when in the area you no longer dropped in on your sister, something I gave up, same for her.

Now this has been going on so long I no longer do all of the above. I now shop in person (with mask, and wipes on my hands as soon as I get back in the car). I do visit my sister and she me, but we don't hug, and sit on opposite sides of the room, but yes we have started up some real human contact again, it no longer just "zoom". My SO has gone from only going to his volunteer place on the "off days", to back to the "on" days, just wearing a mask and keeping some distance. (FYI he is a volunteer at a history museum for military equipment, so he can "keep away", as the artifacts are in a hanger, yes its closed to the public, but the stuff still needs to be cared for, the site still needs what he does, and yes other volunteers are doing the same.). This is all to say, we are tired and no longer so "on guard" as we were.
