9. DC has a population of about 700k, and an area of 68 square miles.

The county I live in, in Connecticut, is nearly 10x the size and has 30% more people. And it would be ridiculous for me to say that my county should be a state. It's too small.

Hell, having NYC be it's own state would be ridiculous... and it's an order of magnitude bigger than DC.

I offered a proposal to correct the situation that is more in line with the rest of the country.
