is discussed, take that as an opportunity to attack religion in general. That often occurs as the atheism vs. religion fight, which then, of course, turns off ALL religious participants, so none of the comparative religious discussion happens.

I keep saying that atheists should consider staying out of it, because anything that they have to say about something that they claim doesn't exist, or that they do not believe in, in the first place, undercuts their own position.

The other problem is that it's kind of hard to compare BELIEFS for validity and reliability. Maybe more could be done with comparisons of the consequences of certain belief systems, but I don't know . . .

I personally consider the topic quite interesting, just don't know how productive it is on the average.
