95. I think President Obama saw Romney standing there in his new populist suit

and knew immediately he could not refute Romney's about-face on several issues plus address a viewing audience with whom he would never have another chance to address on the issues: Republicans. President Obama knew the fact-checkers would hound Romney's debut of his etch-a-sketch performance and correct the public's impression on Romney's performance. So he chose to take advantage of his two minutes to address the audience, knowing the other problem would be addressed in the ensuing days.

I personally think it was smart, strategic decision, and I do not consider Romney the winner of the debate. He is the winner of performance art, but that doesn't count.

So Ed was looking for a gladiator fight, and he is ticked he did not get one. Oh, well, it was Obama's decision to make, and I agree with it.
