(5,992 posts)Simply put the sheer volume of data posted to an online forum like Twitter is massive. Approximately 500-600 Million post per day. Assume 20-30 words average and you have to scan over 1.5e10 words each and every day. That is equal to the content of over 182 years of the New York Times.
I like the direction that the author of that article takes and that is to allow AI and human intelligence to monitor for certain forms of hate speech and misinformation and when found, rather than delete the data and false information, provide a clear and concise rebuttal based on scientific fact and truth based information. Inform those that are ill-informed, teach rather than prosecute. "Fight misinformation with information."
A good discussion, nonetheless.
