(4,847 posts)has their hands in other interests, including defense (or offense). sometimes I think after electing one of their water boys or girls, they all get together and pat each other on the back for influencing a growing apathetic, ignorant populace. I will never forget the bush v gore campaign. serious alleged insider trading by little boots, with his own company, basically got swept under the rug. questions about his expunged driving record and military record, well, most here know how that went. His record as a governor (and federal investigations into his pick for housing and employment) barely mentioned. All we needed to know was that most americans picked him to have a beer with. no mention how he bought the ranch right before he was to campaign. it is the media, with PR, that made his persona into an "ah shucks, I'm just like one of you" kind of character. no mention that there was talk of being a "bully" in school or that he may have been a "mean drunk." and, gore? well, he was a liar. yep, he lied about inventing the internet. at least, that's what the talking heads kept espousing over and over again. and, some of the populace kept regurgitating that lie-"gore is a liar." but, the talking heads LIED about what gore stated, time and time again.
I have no respect for most of the media today. It's just one big propaganda fest. I know what little boots and his ilk did to this country. Yes, I may get on pres. obama for being too right centrist and giving the repugs too much. However, my concern in this election is who will hurt us the most? And, I know mittens with his randian sidekick, will do even more harm to us.
so, those with "selective" memory or none at all, well, they will still be believing the corporate talking heads; but this family won't be buying what their attempting to sell.
