2. that is the theory of the case that ended the bans in my circuit

MD,VA,NC,SC,WV NC has a law that bans people from presiding over marriages they know to be illegal. Unitarians here sued saying that banning marriage equality made it impossible for Unitarians to perform marriage ceremonies in their churches. I am not sure how rare the NC law is.
