Thank god for General Smedly Butler blowing the whistle and telling FDR. Some say that's how FDR got a lot of his bills thru (social security etc). He told the "businessmen" that he would put them up against the wall and have them shot for treason if they did not play ball.
I heard about this plot on a BBC radio program.. It's even in the Library of Congress records..
