The goal was for taking 119 wolves (of around 1050 total) in Wisconsin during an abbreviated February hunt. The hunt ended early when 178 taken-that's nearing 20% of the entire WI population! How out of control and totally blood nuts is this!? Wisconsin's DNR has no oversight, out of state Koch funded hunting group pushed for the season, a whack nut judge sided with the group allowing the hunt. What on Earth is going on when such an egregious abuse of the court to force the hunt, the overkill, and the DNR lack of oversight. Monstrous, and sick, someone has got to be held responsible for this tragic trophy killing abuse forced on our natural resources.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) opened a season Monday that was supposed to run through Sunday, with a kill target of 119 animals.
