In reply to the discussion: Can we show sensitivity to those who can't get vaccines? [View all]Ms. Toad
(38,419 posts)61. I'm 64 and 7 months with two confirmed and one suspected cancer,
and diabetes, and I've been teaching in person most days since August. Ohio has decided that no one under 65 is eligible for several weeks. Except a few a special people who educate the "right" age groups, or who have childhood illnesses - some of which do not increase COVID-related risks.
Even though I can't get a vaccine yet, I'm thrilled to see people getting vaccinated, and to hear about it.
Yes - I usually post in the thread belly-aching about Ohio's stupid policies. Think of it as therapy - crabbing in a public forum (and commiserating with others similarly situated) is probably better than the alternatives. I certanly don't begrudge anyone who has been able to protect themselves, their families, and the rest of us.

Ridiculous! Sharing our successes and motivational stories is NOT being "insensitive" to anyone.

I think that's because your OP berates those who have shared good news

You're right. It's petty resentment at the good fortune (or luck or perseverance) of others.
