(33,301 posts)The way he kept hollering "MARTHA!" (for moderator Martha Raddatz) during Ryan's raucous rants, "AMEN!" and some more when Biden repudiated Ryan, and then cut off the audio when the lies were just too much...wow. I hope to get the live commentary this hour up on youtube later tonight.
Usually I can get a tolerable signal of KTLK 1150 (44 kw from Los Angeles at night) in San Jose at night. However for some reason this right wing station out of Klamath Falls, Oregon (KAGO 1150) was interfering too much. Wikipedia says KAGO is 5 kw day, 1 kw night. I guess the engineer at KAGO forgot to turn down the antenna power. The show playing on KAGO sounded like Sean Hannity so I panicked and grabbed my phone and opened iHeartRadio in a heartbeat.
I am doubtful that a 1000 watt station can be heard more than 100 miles at night. I have heard the 5 kw KABC from LA in my area at night, and I live about 350 miles north of LA. So my guess about KAGO is plausible as Klamath is about 375 mi mouth of my city. And I live about 650 miles south of Portland and can pick up a faint signal of 620 KPOJ (10 kw nights) after sunset, but another 620 station 150 miles away and 1 kw fades in and out.
In summer 2006 I visited the Pacific NW including Klamath and Portland, as well as Seattle. Also saw Mt St Helen's. The PNW is beautiful.
