77. Just wonder if you live in NY.

The condescending reference to Lucy and Ethyl reminds me of similar comments I received on DU when I said, before Jan 6, that Trump was not above calling upon his RW extremist followers to violent actions in an attempt to stay in office. My warnings then were not based on fantasy or idle fear, but on Trump's behavioral traits and on FBI reports about extremist infiltrations into police and military, the SPLC monitoring of hate groups, and an excellent book on RW violence, as well as Atlantic articles.

My concern about Republicans in NY politics is based on living in a small DEM city in NY, not far from Buffalo, surrounded by rural villages and farms. My Congressional district has elected a RW extremist to the House for 6 terms and he even got an endosement in his last election from the usually left leaning Buffalo News.

But if it boosts your self image to be condescending, suit yourself. Personally, I HOPE I am wrong, and I intend to do everything I can in the gubernatorial election to make sure we don't get saddled with a Republican. But I don't think it's wise to glibly underestimate the opposition.
