Sexism and racism are about power. Who has it, who doesn't and how do you keep it?

I think that Democrats tend to be held to a higher standard because they advocate for the use of government to provide a platform for greater equality and equity in power in society. That threatens the wealthy and powerful, so they get more scrutiny. Same reason why people further to the left, who want to overturn capitalism, are labeled "violent", "terrorists", and other things. You have to make people seem "out of the norm" to dismiss them.
