My dad worked for the Corps of Engineers at the highest civilian level. He had to deal with politics often.

One thorn in his side was the salmon runs on the Columbia River and the impact that Dams had on them.

Often this issue would pit biologists against each other in court.

My dad often said, "A biologist will reflect the science of the people that write his paycheck".

You can say the same thing about pollsters.
