pulled the city through probably one of the worst periods it ever went through. The Jim Jones mass murders, happened about a week before, and the city was still reeling from that, and in a couple years would be hit by the AIDS epidemic

White was convicted only of manslaughter, in spite of the fact that Harvey Milk was killed just because he was gay.

White became the poster child for the far right back then
