The answer is yes.

When Barack Obama was elected president, Republican leaders met and formed a pact vowing to obstruct everything that Democrats propose. At the time I felt that strategy can't work because that strategy will hurt working class Republicans. I was wrong. I didn't account for the massive propaganda that ensued which demonized Democrats. Yes they used the tried and proven narrative of baby killers and "gonna take your guns." Republicans were successful in convincing their working class base that everything that Democrats did was wrong, was evil, was "Socialist," was communist. The propaganda worked. Republicans abandoned their agenda, their only agenda was holding on to power at whatever means possible. I know the propaganda worked, I live among the Trumpers in central Pa. and they have become irrational. I found that it is impossible for a rational person to have a debate with an irrational person. Trumpers will never change, not ever. When they proudly wear Tee shirts that say, "I'd rather be Russian than a Democrat that says it all.
