Screwing around with the order and not having Best Picture last completely messed up the flow of the show.

Yes, watching Glenn Close do Da Butt was amusing, but that entire Best Song audience quiz was a total time suck.

The consensus is they flipped Best Picture and Best Actor because they thought Chadwick Boseman might have won and it would have been some emotional high point. Ultimately it was Anthony Hopkins, who wasn't even available to accept his award.

My thinking is, even if Boseman had won, it would have still been an emotional moment even if they still had to do the Best Picture award. Why screw up the order on a gamble that didn't pay out?

Bottom line is that they should have just done Best Picture last.
