1. I sent my parents to Maui on a First Class flight

on United airlines, and of all the gawd damn days picked to travel, they caught a flight that ended up diverted to Honolulu for a day, because the Maui was closed due to the emergency landing.

I'm not rich, but sending your parents to Hawaii free was an easy thing in the 1980s. United used to give coupons for free air travel, free hotel, and free rental cars to its frequent flyer club members, so it didn't cost anyone a dime, United paid for it all. They don't have that program anymore lol...
