A violent mob had just smashed their way into the Capitol Building, injuring more than a hundred cops on the way. At the time Babbitt was shot, the mob was just a few yards away from members of Congress who were trying to evacuate. The guy that shot Babbitt conceivably saved the lives of dozens of members of Congress, because he prevented the mob from breaking down that final door and gave them time to escape.

Gosar is off his fucking rocker.
