In reply to the discussion: Did I miss this discussion today?? Conservatives applaud Jon Stewart??? [View all]Sapient Donkey
(1,568 posts)37. True. There were a lot of non-conservatives discussing it for awhile
Most of them were annoyed with Trump turning into a circus. Which was then capitalized on by those who wanted to completely suppressed it as a valid theory by saying "you're not on Trump's side on this, are you?" I'm glad people are discussing it without it having the same sense of taboo as before. I don't even know what it means if it originate from the lab, but we should know either way. I mean, I'd want to know if it came from a US lab so that we could figure out why and ensure it's less likely to happen again. I'm sure in that situation most people would agree that they'd want it to be investigated, even those who may not want to investigate the chances of it coming from the Chinese lab.

All you wrote, unfortunately is true. There was tremendous resistance to commonsense

Blame China became his mantra after it was obvious that he totally screwed up the US response.

Of course they're jumping on it. "Liberal icon endorses Trump bullshit!" (or some variant)

We have to be prepared to handle these things whether from lab, bats, enemies, etc.

Not only was Trump not ready, he had crippled our ability to get early warning
