Interesting to think about, especially when one delves into how fascism came about in Europe in the last century. It arose from dissatisfaction with the PTB, which is the reason revolutions arise from left or right.

Our situation is admittedly in the balance, as a democracy/republic always is with its prime mission being to keep a majority of society happy enough to feed, clothe and house themselves in relative comfort.

The added complication here is the huge role racial politics has always play here whereas in Europe it was religious differences or ethnic ones or unhappiness with the terms of the WWll armistice. Here POCs are and will be a permanent and growing force in the electorate and the corruptness and blatant white supremacy of trump has great appeal to the magats. He has been dethroned but his influence is still strong.

What happens with the Biden agenda of infrastructure revamping and voting rights legislation will determine which way our society goes. If Dems are successful (Mansion finally gets it), we will be a greater and more equitable society. If not and the republican/proto-fascists take over again, we're all screwed, and so will be the fools who vote white supremacists back in.
