with his Southern strategy, and his media consultant Ailes is at least as responsible for creating Fox News to ensure future Nixons would never be forced to resign. It's no accident that Fox News strives to metamorphose viewers into Archie Bunkers, the fictional, but very influential Nixon-loving bigot. Credit to Lee Atwater as well, who was one of their most effective propagandists.

Their power lies in focusing on social issues to evoke anger and resentment: Nixon's campus radicals vs the "silent majority," Reagan's "welfare queens", and Trump's "illegals" and caravans.
